A friend of mine died in Iraq, his girlfriend found out today, and called me up to let me know. He was a really good friend of mine, and I wanted to honor him, by naming my daughter after him. But the only names I can think of that comes from the name Zachary is either
Chara (ch-a-ra)
Carrie
Karrie
Socorro (a unisex name)
Zakaria (zah-kar-e-ah) (a unisex name)
Zacarias (zah-kar-ee-us)
Zaccai (zah-kai) (a girls name)
Zachary (zak-er-ee)
Zachery (zak-er-ee)
Zacari (zah-kar-ee) (a girls name)
Zacaria (zah-kar-ee-ah)
Zacarrie (zah-kar-ee)
Zaccaria (zah-kar-ee-ah)
Zacceaus (zah-kai-ee-us) (a unisex name)
Zacchaea (zah-kai-ee-ah) (a unisex name)
Zacharie (zah-kar-ee)
Zackari (zak-er-ee)
Zackarrie (zak-er-ee)
Zackerrie (zak-er-ee)
ZacKerrie (zak-er-ee)
Zackary (zak-er-ee)
Zackery (zak-er-ee)
Zada (Zay-da)
Zadie (Zay-dee)
Zaida (Zay-dee-ah)
Zakarie (zah-kar-ee)
Zandra (Zan-Dra)
Zara
Zarah
What do you think of the names, and can you think of any other names that could come from the boys name Zachary. As far as the name Zakaria would it be weird to use it, with my brother Jake having a little girl named Zakaria (that goes by Kari).

I'm sorry to hear about your friend
I like Zara to honour Zachary. It's feminine, cool and you can see a clear connection with Zachary. |

| And fuck (excuse my language) but another one of my friends died, I found out today about. He died saturday night, in his sleep. So another list will be up soon (boys name, coming from the name Jason, without being Jason) |

I definitely choose Zara. In fact I love! Zara. I met a girl in Ireland by that name and it is forever good in my mind.
It is pretty intuitively pronounced. It is obviously girl. Both are definite advantages when put in the context of 6 babies.
Speaking of pronunciation. I first say ZAR- uh. rhymes with car.
So sorry about your friends. |

I'm so sorry about your friends.
Here are some other options I found with the help of BTN:
Zachairi (zuh-KIGH-ree) nn Chairi
Sakari (Finnish form of Zachary)
Zaharina (Bulgarian feminine)
Zacharina
Zahari (Bulgarian masc.)
Zachara (Zak-KAR-a) nn Chara |

I am sorry to hear about your friends.
I liked Zara, but also Zaccai, if you are willing to go a little further out on the naming limb.
Of Xanthe's suggestions, I liked Zachairi quite a lot. I may tuck that one into my pocket for later too. _________________ ~*~

I quite like Zara. She's associated with the underworld in my city, but she has a fair bit of sass about her, and can stnd on her own. She's awesome _________________ Mother of:

| We are thinking of using one of these two. Zara we aren't that sure about. but Zakaria (zah-kar-ee-ah) or Zaccaria (zah-kar-ee-ah) we really like. |

I'm sorry about your friend.
I think it mgiht be kind of neat to have cousins with the same name.
I have always liked the idea of Zacharine as feminine of Zachary. You've got lots of good options here. |
